STUDIO PROJECTS
A Final Japan Studio Review took place in both Tokyo and Los Angeles. Themes involved were Thermodynamic Design and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Venues. See the techniques and ideas from the presentations.
THERMODYNAMIC TOKYO!
Students from SCI-Arc, Keio University, Tokyo University, and Hosei University gathered together to make a movie about the thermodynamic qualitites of different Tokyo neighborhoods. Watch the films and see the images from the presentations here!
WORKSHOPS / SYMPOSIUM
SCI-Arc Japan held two workshops this year (one in Tokyo and one in Shanghai) and was also involved in a symposium that featured world famous architects discussing the impact of the single surface project on the world of architecture. See the images from the sessions and the design charettes here.
CREATIVE CODING
SCI-Arc Japan worked with guru Akira Wakita on a series of coding experiments to simulate particles / energy flows and eventually turn them into generative geometry. See the results here!
